Steve Goodchild is the Lead instructor at Positive Training, with many years of electrical experience and a calm, friendly approach to teaching.
This qualification aims at the specialist knowledge and skills you need, including appropriate legislation, inspection and testing techniques, completing and issuing certificates or reports and understanding of results and measurements. Assessment will be through a multiple-choice on-line test and a practical task.
The course includes three examination components:
2391-050 - Online multiple-choice exam
2391-500 - Practical Assignment – Assessed in-house by Trainer
Short Form Written Question Paper - Marked by in-house Trainer
In order to gain the qualification, candidates must pass each of the above components.
•The requirements for completing the safe isolation of electrical circuits and installations
•The requirements for initial verification of electrical installations
•The requirements for completing the inspection of electrical installations prior to them being placed into service
•The requirements for the safe testing and commissioning of electrical installations
•The requirements for testing before circuits are energised
•The requirements for testing energised installations
•The requirements for the completion of electrical installation certificates and associated documentation
•How to carry out inspection and testing of electrical installations prior to them being placed into service
We strongly recommend that candidates have the City and Guilds 2382 prior to taking this course, though this is not a mandatory requirement.
